Eddie Bauer | Technical Outerwear Photography
Our team was challenged with showcasing a series of innovative products on a campaign page that would emphasize the design stories of each product within the brand’s historic context of field testing. To give the products a distinct and elevated look in the photography, we opted to find a way to visually communicate the product that was unique from our standard on-figure studio looks or in-field editorial capture. The product was shot with “invisible models” giving the illusion of on-figure pieces with the added context of implied action and movement, all while visual attention could focus on the details of the products. The end result allowed for a campaign experience that brought additional content elements, like videos, into an engaging multimedia page.
A Look That Defines Innovation
This style has become a brand device for Eddie Bauer and is used to communicate innovation and quality for technical outerwear products. The products are styled and photographed using practical techniques, rather than using CG renders, to emphasize the authenticity of the product and its real-world application. Photo editing is kept as minimal as possible.
